JOEY TENUTO JR. BAND (BOYNTON BEACH, FL)
THE WOODCELLAR (EVERGREEN, CO)
*****
The Woodcellar is MOST pleased to welcome back Joey Tenuto Jr., out of Boynton Beach, FL. We've worked together for several years now. The last time he played the Woodcellar back in 2024...he brought some blues so thick...so swampy...we had to change clothes at set-break.
Filthy. nasty. dirty. blues.
So we're having him back...on the Saturday night of July 4th weekend! Come see for yourself.
BIO:
"Joey Tenuto is an electrifying international touring musician whose raw talent and soul-drenched guitar work have earned him a reputation as one of the most dynamic rising forces in blues-rock today. Known for his powerful stage presence, deep musicality, and a sound that fuses gritty Southern rock, blistering blues, and psychedelic overtones, Joey’s music is as captivating as it is original—creating a style uniquely his own that resonates deeply with audiences across the globe.
Throughout his career, Joey has built a lasting legacy—not just through his own unforgettable performances, but also through the company he keeps. A true musician’s musician, Joey has shared the stage with and befriended many legendary figures from some of rock’s most iconic groups. From Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special to Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, DIO, Alice Cooper, and The Doors, Joey’s journey has intertwined with rock and blues royalty. His extensive list of friends and collaborators reads like a Hall of Fame lineup, featuring icons from The Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers, Mountain, Uriah Heep, Colosseum, Ace Frehley’s Comet, Richie Scarlett, Warren Haynes, Robin Trower, Eric Gales, Gregg Rolie, Skunk Baxter, and the Pat Travers Band.
Joey’s deep respect for blues tradition has fueled powerful friendships with veterans of the Muddy Waters Band and the Morganfield Family, as well as Bobby Nathan, Paul Nelson, and Johnny Winter Band members. His admiration for the genre is further reflected in his close connections with blues heavyweights like Guitar Shorty, Jan Bledowski (Krzak), Lombard, Jan Gałach, Joey Gilmore, JP Soars & The Red Hots, Mark Telesca, Albert Castiglia, and even the eclectic Red Elvises.
A pivotal figure in Joey’s life and musical journey was the legendary bluesman Joey Gilmore, a dear friend who always welcomed Tenuto to play his guitar. Tenuto continues to carry the memory and influence of Gilmore with him, deeply missing the mentorship and camaraderie of his late friend.
Another influential figure in Joey's life is Bobby Nathan, co-founder of the Grammy Award-winning Unique Recording Studios in New York City. Bobby and his wife Joann Nathan have recorded some of the greatest legends in music, and their guidance and advice have been an invaluable source of inspiration to Joey throughout his career.
With an unrelenting global touring schedule and a rapidly growing fanbase, Joey Tenuto is not merely a performer—he is a movement in motion. As he continues to carve out his path among rock and blues royalty, one thing is clear: the best of Joey Tenuto is still ahead."
